It’s that time of year again! Time to nominate your favourite local business for the Logan Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Business Distinction Awards!

Whether it’s your local coffee shop, the hardware store on the corner or the lovely florist down the road, we all have that one place that we continue to go back to time and time again. It could be because their food or coffee is amazing or their customer service is on point, for whatever reason though, it’s time they get recognised and that’s where Logan Chamber of Commerce come in!

The Chamber’s Business Distinction Awards are held every year around August, and in lead up to the awards night happy customers or clients can nominate their favourite businesses for awards in a range of different categories.

This year’s awards categories include:

•    Manufacturing /Export
•    Home Business

•    Trade Services
•    Customer Service
•    Marketing
•    Innovation
•    Emerging Business
•    Community Contribution

The Logan Chamber of Commerce has been running the initiative for quite some time now, seeing a huge increase in nominations every year.

“The Logan Chamber of Commerce is committed to lending a hand to boost the profile of distinctive local businesses that are appreciated by their customers. The Logan Chamber feels these businesses, through their exemplary service, are contributing to advancing a positive projection of the image of Logan and surrounding districts.”

This year, over 50 businesses have been nominated so far. Some of this year’s nominees include; 2016 Innovation Category winner, Substation 33 and 2015 Manufacturing and Exporting Category winner, Ausmetal Engineering.

The 2017 Business Distinction Awards will be held on Friday 4 August. Nominations close on Friday 26 May.

Resa Zekants
From radio to print and then advertising (in many different areas), Resa has a long and varied background in media. Starting as a SCB intern many moons ago whilst working as a radio news reporter, Resa has come back to SCB and is now our wonderful Editor. Resa’s qualifications include: Bachelor of Communications with Majors in Journalism and Film & Screen Studies, Certificate in Copy Writing, Certificate in Brand Strategy and Development and in unrelated fields Master Trainer of Fitness and Basic 1 Zumba instructor. Resa has her own Personal Training business and likes to teach Zumba in her spare time. Whether it’s writing articles, attending events or putting together client advertising, Resa loves being part of the team!
